Tesla Bot Action Figure Sells Out, Resale Prices Surge Up to $1,300

Tesla’s $40 Tesla Bot Action Figure, which boasts over 40 individual parts and 20 points of articulation, has sold out within 24 hours of its release. The figure comes with a charging stand and a “CyberHammer” accessory, giving collectors and fans a mini version of Tesla’s highly anticipated humanoid robot.

When Elon Musk revealed the Tesla humanoid robot in 2021, he promised a 5-foot, 8-inch tall AI assistant. However, the tech company has so far only delivered a 7-inch action figure representing the futuristic machine.

The action figure went on sale Saturday, but by the following day, it was sold out, according to Teslarati, a news outlet that covers Tesla and SpaceX. As of Monday, it remains unavailable, with interested buyers only able to sign up for restock notifications.

Tesla markets the action figure as “Your mini autonomous assistant and humanoid friend.” The collectible, which is designed at a 1:10 scale, is built to resemble the company’s upcoming humanoid robot, featuring a high level of detail with movable joints and parts.

In addition to the figure, customers also receive a charging stand and a “CyberHammer” accessory, further enhancing the toy’s appeal.

Resale Prices Soar

As of now, the only option for purchasing the Tesla Bot Action Figure is on eBay, where prices range from $130 to a staggering $1,300, marking a huge markup over the original price.

It is unclear when Tesla will restock the figures, or when customers who purchased the toy directly from Tesla will receive their orders. USA TODAY reached out to Tesla on Monday but did not immediately receive a response.

When Will Tesla’s Humanoid Robots Be Available?

During an earnings call on July 23, Elon Musk announced that Tesla expects to begin limited production of its Optimus humanoid robot in early 2025, but initially, these robots will only be used internally at Tesla to “iron out the issues.” Musk stated that the company anticipates having several thousand Optimus robots in operation by the end of 2025, with plans to ramp up production in 2026. At that time, the second version of the robot will be available for sale to external customers.
