Joshua Pushes Fury Fight

Joshua Pushes for Fury Fight in 2025

Anthony Joshua insists his fight with Tyson Fury “must happen this year.” He’s focused on securing his next opponent and making it a significant bout.

For years, fans have anticipated a showdown between the two British heavyweights. Despite widespread discussion, the fight has never materialized.

Determined to Leave a Lasting Legacy

Joshua, recovering from a recent defeat, confirmed Fury is his preferred next opponent. “I’m a boxing fan, and I want to see this fight too,” he shared. “In the gym, everyone asks about it. I don’t have many years left, so I aim to leave with a bang.”

He added, “People keep asking the same thing. It’s my responsibility to deliver, and that’s why this fight must happen in 2025. I’m confident we can make it work.”

Speaking at the Ring Magazine awards in London, where Oleksandr Usyk was also present, Joshua admitted there had been no talks yet with Fury’s team.

Fury lost to unified world champion Usyk in December, while Joshua suffered a stoppage by IBF titleholder Daniel Dubois in September.

Other Rivals Set for Action

Chris Eubank Jr, who attended the event alongside his rival Conor Benn, spoke about their own upcoming clash. Benn and Eubank Jr have been negotiating since Benn’s anti-doping suspension ended in November.

The camps have disagreed over the purse split, but Eubank Jr expressed confidence. “This fight will happen,” he said. “Negotiations are going well. We’re ironing out the last details, and soon we’ll announce it. Big things are coming.”

With both heavyweight and middleweight battles brewing, boxing fans have much to anticipate this year.
